I have been working on my Animal Alphabet screen prints in my spare time over 9 months (literally my babies!) during my day off in a lovely studio in Peckham, London.
They are in limited editions of 100. I took inspiration from my collection of 50's & 60's children's books, which has helped give them a really modern retro style.
It was a really exciting project as
it encouraged me to develop creativity within the restriction imposed by the
letters of the alphabet and the requirement that each animal had to be doing
something beginning with its letter. I never would have thought of a ‘Valentine
Vulture' or a 'Scooting Squirrel' with out this thought process! My main rule is that my work has to make people smile so I can pass
on the fun I had designing them!
